Seahorse won't snick, but 180 gallon better
Has it been so long since my last post?
Ok, seahorse. Believe it or not, she's still alive. I don't know if I believe it. She is still clearly unable to snick -- shoot out the trigger in her snout to take food -- but clearly something is keeping her alive. I feed almost a whole cube of mysis carefully basted into the corner of the tank, into the cup of an empty clam shell. I also feed refrigerated Arcticpods occasionally.
As for the 180 gallon, I'm not testing the water anymore. What's the point? The fish seem to be improving and the tank looks great. I add a special bacteria blend to the tank every other week as well as water changes.
I guess when I'm feeling masochistic I'll do an ammonia test and see probably a very dark green, meaning a lot of ammonia.
Got a firefish for the reef tank to go with the clown. It hides a lot.
Having a problem with cyano now, coating my nuissance green hair algae. And I thought hair algae was ugly...
Finally found a good stock of cardinal tetras for my 29 gallon mixed community tank upstairs. Bought eleven, two died an hour after introduction, but the rest are doing strong. They're tiny but they add a lot of color to the tank, like living jewels.
My 55 gallon tank is doing well. I don't remember if I mentioned it but I moved the smallest severum up there. That tank is now way overstocked, but I could care less about the given "rules," especially in light of my baffling experience with the 180 and 10 gallon. Also the bacteria culture does a great job of balancing out the load.
