Ray report
Nitrates are steadily building, up to 20 now, so there is and has been established bacteria in the tank. Unfortunately, ammonia is still traceable, though far below the .5 ppm at which it was reading earlier. The ray is very active and always on the search for food. Quite easy to feed by hand and this seems his preferred way of eating as he always comes to the top of the tank and sticks his mouth above the surface of the water.
I'm going to utilize the sera toxivec today after a 20% water change. As nitrate is present and building, I'm not worried about wiping out the ammonia with which the colonizing bacteria needs to feed in a cycling tank.
In other news, I lost my clownfish. She was found outside of the tank from a jump. I put her back in the tank and waited twenty minutes, even tried some fish cpr. Unfortunately the fish was already gone.
She was a great fish and it was blow to lose her.
